Philadelphia’s WWDB Multicultural Radio finds New Way to Expand Mobile Audience on Any Mobile Phone

WWDB – AM 860 – has partnered with Virginia-based AudioNow. The company
captures WWDB – AM 860’s Internet audio stream and makes it available
over a local telephone line.

“You can still listen to WWDB on the radio and Internet, but the free
cellphone link is another way for listeners to access the radio
station’s programming,” WWDB’s General Manager Sam Speiser said.

WWDB AM -860 broadcasts ethnic programming in the Philadelphia Metro
area. It’s a way to expand the station’s signal to listeners who can’t
always be near their radio or at their computer to hear their favorite
program.

“We’ve been getting great feedback,” Speiser said. “It solves the
problem of listeners who have said: ‘We love you. We depend on you. But
we have a hard time listening if we’re doing something away from our
desk or radio.”

Now listeners can dial 712-432-6621 from their cell phone from anywhere
and instantly hear what’s on the air on WWDB – AM 860 in Philadelphia.
