AudioNow Announces New Broadcaster Tool: The Stream Heartbeat

October 13, 2011, Washington, DC - AudioNow® announced today that participating broadcasters will now be able to see a graphic representation of how their stream is performing on a real-time basis. This information is now visible on the broadcaster’s account dashboard. The graph tracks breaks in streaming, providing broadcasters with critical insights on the quality of their stream.

“We developed this important tool as a way to improve the listener experience that can be compromised from even momentary disruptions in the broadcast stream which the stations are generally unaware of until listeners complain. Broadcasters who beta-tested the service were surprised to see the level of interruptions in their service,” says George Cernat, AudioNow’s Chief Marketing Officer. “As with other AudioNow® reporting tools, the AudioNow® Stream HeartbeatTM, comes as a standard feature for all broadcasters we accept on our network. We are committed to the long-term success of our partners and this ensures that their listener experience will improve across all their distribution platforms.”

"Our audio platform was designed for the unique requirements of the broadcast industry from the bottom-up to help ease the strain imposed by increased mobile streaming through data networks", added Marcel Barbulescu, the company's Chief Technology Officer. "AudioNow® uses a single stream of bandwidth regardless of the number of listeners that call in on our network. By launching the AudioNow® Stream HeartbeatTM, we are now able to give our broadcasters a sense of how their stream is performing in real time.”

AudioNow® is the leading provider of mobile phone radio distribution in North America. It uses proprietary, “HD” voice architecture and patent-pending “single-stream” technology that allows any fixed or mobile phone to access live and pre-recorded audio programming without any downloads across all mobile platforms while lowering bandwidth costs for broadcasters.
